One of the most quotable and influential movies of all time gets a sequel, and who would have guessed, it's extremely quotable and influential. Empire is one of those rare sequels that improves on the original. It takes all the great parts of Star Wars and develops them further. Masterfully crafted from a technical perspective, empire strikes back is just as innovative as the original. Where Empire distinguishes it's self is in the characters. This is where Luke Skywalker becomes Luke Skywalker, Han Solo becomes Han Solo and Darth Vader proves to be the greatest cinematic antagonist in film history. Every character and scene is iconic and memorable, with a story that satisfies while subverting the expectations of it audience. Harrison Ford and James Earl Jones give more than memorable performances with dialogue that come across as cheesy without the right actor behind it. Williams provides music that could inject any scene with intense emotion. With the most iconic movie twist in history, the story takes you on a ride that you can't help but want more of when the film comes to a close. Hopeful and charming, Empire is one of those movies that define a generation.

Star Wars has always and will always be my favorite movie saga of all time. Not only does it capture my imagination like no other series but it also has one of the greatest story lines of all time. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is one of my favorites of the six. It seriously emphasizes the idea of the archetypal hero with Luke meeting the great Yoda who trains him to be able to fulfill his destiny by confronting Vader. Another Favorite aspect is the legendary scene when Vader tells Luke he is his father. Episode V has many legendary movie moments that are known by pretty much everyone. It also greatly shows the connection between both Vader and Luke the many differences and similarities. Anakin was mainly full of anger and fear, both characteristics appear in Luke, but the feelings of knowing what is right and the discipline that Luke shows when he confronts his father is definitely a characteristic of his mother. We never really were able to put that together until the 3 prequels were made. Episode V will always be in the top numbers of legendary movies in America full of unforgettable classic movie moments and fun.
